Rooms and availability
1 Bed in shared room
- City landmarks
well set up, better for young people.
hard to find when driving , on one way street , very liminted parking .
Nice room, new furniture.
Very noisy like every backpacker. Luckily we used the shared bathroom first, later on the evening and in the morning it was really dirty.
The room and bed was very clean and confy
Not too many bathrooms for the amount of rooms
+ Near to the city centre + Nice place to stay
- It's uphill from the centre
Rooms are extremely quiet which I found suprising for this type of accommodation. Haka Lodge was great. Cooking facilities were easy to use, so too were the shower and bathroom facilities. Our room was very comfortable and the staff were happy to help.
Good quality bunks with curtain and sockets for each bed. Plus storage under bunks with lockable drawers (padlock req). Good location and free wi fi. Good value for money
Only one lounge area which can become crowded
A new accomadation in Queenstown with nice facility for cooking. very recommend you to stay here, that will be your first choice.
Very convenient location, very clsnd and friendly staff and guests
Heavy wooden bunks mean no creaking. Large kitchen with indoor/outdoor seating. Privacy curtains in bunks. Each bunk has a power outlet. Each bunk has its own locker (bring your own padlock).
Haka Lodge is great place to stay. It exceeded all of our expectations. We had never stayed in backpackers before and had low expectation for what we had paid for. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised to find out that the lodge had just opened recently. The double room we booked felt like a newly refurbished room from a good motel. Here are some highlights: there was a huge shared kitchen, a beautifully designed bathroom, free wifi and a satellite tv in your bedroom!! Basically you have everything you'd expect from a motel and more. The difference is that you pay only half the price! Staffs there were great. They were really friendly and helpful. They also have a Jack Russell running around making friends which was just adorable. We will definitely stay there again when we are in Queenstown next time. And we will recommend this place to our friends and family unreservedly.
Somehow I couldn't get the satellite tv to work. We did bring an iPad however, so it's all good.
It was clean, modern, extremely handy to "downtown", value for money. Staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. I would certainly go there again, and have already recommended it to others.
Never did get the TV to work!
Really good price and great location Friendly people in reception Nice rooms
Room was not cleaned during our 3 days stay
Great beds and a very good setup overall.
Great location and both members of staff we spoke to were very friendly and welcoming. Room was lovely and more like a hotel room than a hostel!
The bathroom - lock on door was strange and was never sure if it was locked or not. Other guests left it in a way I'm sure they would not like to find it, but can't blame hosts for that and it was cleaned regularly.
Our double room (Nr. 13) was amazing. So comfortable, we almost didn' want to go out. The kitchen was tidy and semed to be brandnew. Everything was very well decorated. In our 7 months of travelling we hadn't seen a nicer place!
A second bathroom/toilet for this floor would be nice.
